About Dr. Bonnie Hiers and Our Staff
About Dr. Bonnie M. Hiers, DDS
Dr. Bonnie Hiers, a third-generation dentist and owner of Dr. Bonnie Hiers, Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, has a passion for dentistry along with a genuine concern for people. She provides quality and comfortable dental services which lead to long-term, mutually satisfying professional relationships.
Our Dental Services
Dr. Hiers attended the University of Maryland in College Park where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in the Biological Sciences. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at University of Maryland College of Dental Surgery, wherein she graduated Magna Cum Laude, in the top 3% of her class.
She was inducted into many honor societies based on her clinical and academic skills including:
- Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society
- Gorgas Odontological Honor Society
- Phi Sigma Phi Honor Society
- Phi Sigma National Biological Honor Society
Dr. Hiers received the University Gold Medal and certificate of merit. As a full-time dentist for over 30 years, she frequently attends continuing education courses to stay updated with the latest techniques and technologies in dentistry.
She has received multiple awards and honorable mentions. Dr. Hiers specializes in cosmetic dentistry and is a member of various organizations, including:
- American Dental Association
- Maryland State Dental Association
- Howard County Dental Association
Dr. Hiers opened her own practice in Ellicott City, MD in 2008, which she finds most rewarding. She was raised in Montgomery County and raised her two children in Howard county, of whom she is very proud!
Dr. Hiers and her staff strive to build lifelong relationships that promote dental health and wellness and to provide the best possible care to patients.
Donna
Donna was raised in Potomac, MD and she has lived most of her life in Maryland. She has worked in the dental field since 2001 and has been an office manager since 2004.
She is very knowledgeable regarding dental insurance plans and is also very responsive to patient's concerns regarding financial and scheduling issues. Donna makes the utmost effort to provide a calming, relaxed and comfortable environment for our patients.
Together with her husband, she enjoys raising her 3 children in Howard County. She is actively involved in her community and enjoys interacting with people.
Brittany
From working as a dental assistant for many years to becoming a full-time dental hygienist, Brittany has earned the hearts of our patients with her reputation of being extremely gentle.
She earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Howard Community College in May 2016. She graduated with honors and was a member and officer of the Students of the American Dental Hygienists' Association. She was awarded the Health Science Division Award for being an outstanding HCC student.
As a dental hygienist, she enjoys getting to know her patients individually so that she can perform high-quality dental care. To educate and treat our patients better, Brittany attends continuing education courses to stay abreast of the latest studies and techniques in dental hygiene.
In her free time, she enjoys the company of her daughter, family, and friends. She enjoys boating, camping, beach trips, baseball, and football games.
Sandy
With Sandy's expertise and experience in administration and dental insurance benefits and coordination, she provides extensive customer service to our patients.
Her warm and friendly demeanor will help you feel relaxed and comfortable during your visit. She brings a wealth of dental knowledge to our office from insurance to the newest dental technologies.
During her free time, she enjoys bonding with her husband and three children. Sandy loves repurposing furniture, shopping a good find in an antique shop, and baking her delicious cupcakes.
Monica
Monica graduated from San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assisting and received her Expanded Functions Dental License and Radiology degree in 2001.
She loves working with patients in the dental field. Monica is friendly, gentle and works well with Dr. Hiers to ensure a pleasant experience to our patients. She is very organized and meticulous with her work.
Monica is originally from Texas and moved to Maryland in 2008. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their daughter.
